Currently, bulb does not support the use of High Efficiency Image File (.heic) formatted images. You can still use these images with a little help of formatting.
If you are using an iPhone that is running iOS 11 or later, you can turn off the "Live Photos" option within your phone settings before you take photos.
Here is how you can do this:
- Go into your iPhone 'Settings' page
- Either scroll down to your Camera settings or type "Camera" into the search bar at the top
- Once in your Camera settings, select the "Preserve Settings" option at the top
- At the bottom of this settings page, toggle the "Live Photos" option off.
You can also turn off Live Photos directly from your camera screen on your iPhone. Simply tap the yellow icon at the top of the screen to toggle it on/off.
Here's what it will look like on your camera screen. The left side shows the "Live Photo" icon turned on and the right side shows the "Live Photo" icon turned off.
What do I do if I already have images that I want to use, but they are not currently in .jpeg format or another supported file format?
You can use an online .heic to .jpeg image converter. Listed below are two simple, free options that allow you to convert your photos from .heic to .jpeg format so that you can use your images in your bulb portfolio!
Windows Converter: apowersoft has a great converter that you can use directly in the website, no downloads required! Just go to apowersoft.com and go to the 'Product & Solution' drop down menu in the upper left corner and click "HEIC Converter" in the online column.
Apple/MacOS: Converting .heic images on a Mac can be done by following the steps listed in this helpful guide here.
|Is the image you are trying to upload a different file format other than .heic/.jpeg? Refer to this help page that lists all compatible file formats within bulb here.|
