How to change the default browser language 

Google Chrome:

1. Go to the settings menu found in the top right corner in the 3 dots menu.

2. On the left hand side of the settings menu, click on the "Advanced" drop down menu

3. Click on "Languages" 

4. Under the "Language" drop down menu click "Add Languages"

5. Select the language you wish to change the browser to and click "Add"

6. After adding the language, click on the 3 dots menu on the right side of the language tile

7. Click the option that says "Display Google Chrome in this language"

8. Click "Relaunch" and the browser will close and re-open with the new default language. 

Mozilla Firefox

1. Click on the Menu button indicated by 3 horizontal lines in the top right corner of your browser

2. Click on "Options" within this menu

3. In the "General" settings menu, scroll down to the "Language" section

4. Click on the "Set Alternatives..." button 

5. Click on the "Select a language to add..." drop down menu

6. Select the "Search for more languages" option

7. Select your preferred language and click "Add"

8. Your new language will now appear in this menu, select it and click "OK"

9. You will now see that in the "Languages" menu you have an option to restart your browser

10. Click "Apply and Restart"

11. Your browser will now be defaulted to your preferred language

How to toggle the spell checker in your browser 

Google Chrome

1. Go to the settings menu found in the top right corner of the 3 dots menu

2. On the left hand side of the settings menu, click on the "Advanced" drop down menu

3. Click on "languages" 

4. You will see a "Spell Check" menu that has a toggle option on the right side of the menu. 

5. Click this toggle so that it displays as off. 

Mozilla Firefox

1. Click on the Menu button indicated by 3 horizontal lines in the top right corner of your browser

2. Click on "Options" within this menu

3. In the "General" settings menu, scroll down to the "Language" section

4. In the "Language" section, you will see a check box that reads "Check your spelling as you type"

5. Toggle this option to "Off" so that your browser will no longer check for spelling errors.
