For teachers and administrators:
What is archiving?
-
Archiving is a tool used for students' to lock in their content each year. An archived page is just a copy of a page from a moment in time added to a forever collection. Students still have access to the original draft, but the version in their archive cannot be edited or deleted.
-
Archiving is a feature enabled at the administrator level and will affect all students.
-
Teachers will not receive an archived collection.
Review our "How to Archive Pages" article to learn how students can place their work into their new archived collection. |
Who can view a student's archived collection?
-
The 'My Archive' collection in a student's portfolio is only viewable to the owner (the student), teachers, and the administrators within the organization or school.
-
Students are unable to view or have access to their peers' archived collections.
What if a student needs to delete something?
-
Administrator status bulb users have the ability to delete a page from a student's archived collection if need be.
-
Outside of archiving new content, students cannot alter their archived collection.
What happens to a student's archived collection if they leave the school or graduate?
-
Once a student has left the organization, their work will transform into a regular collection housing all of their archived work as draft pages.
-
Remind them to be careful not to delete any of this work as it will come in handy later.
-
The school or organization will no longer have access to that student's archived collection.
